Overall, the objectives of the present analysis are: (i)  to identify the linkages between the environment and social and economic development and assessing to what extent sustainable management of natural resources can contribute to economic growth and poverty reduction in Mozambique; (ii) to assess the economic costs and benefits of sustainable and unsustainable natural resources use in Mozambique; (iii) to reveal how natural resource management practices influence economic performance and how they are linked with poverty reduction, and (iv) to set recommendations in order to encourage key decision-makers and planners to consider environmental sustainability in policy setting and budgeting.
