Hosted by the UN Environment Programme, the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) brings together representatives of the 193 Member States of the UN, businesses, civil society and other stakeholders to agree on policies to address the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

After the UNEA, the Assembly convened a Special Session of the Assembly from 3-4 March 2022, devoted to the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the UN Environment programme in 1972 (UNEP@50).

At the UNEP@50 event, H.E. Khattabi Zakia, Minister of Climate, Environment, Sustainable Development and Green Deal, Belgium highlighted Poverty-Environment Actions for SDGs as a good example of UN cooperation in mainstreaming environment in her statement (starting at minute 57.55: )
