The SC4SDG project of UNDP Bangladesh, in partnership with the daily Prothom Alo and with the support of UNDP-UNEP Poverty-Environment Action for Sustainable Development Goals project through the financial support of the Governments of Austria, Sweden and the European Union organized a round table discussion titled "Role of online service providers in promoting responsible consumption and production" with online service providers on 12 September 2022.

This round table aimed to raise the awareness and responsibilities of online service providers in achieving SDG 12. It was expected that this discussion will raise awareness among the private sector (online service providers) regarding efficient management of our shared natural resources while producing and consuming goods and services, thereby achieving economic growth and sustainable development.

Professor Bazlul Hoque Khondker, Chairman of the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM) chaired the roundtable discussion while Dr. Nazneen Ahmed, Country Economist, UNDP Bangladesh presented the keynote paper.

Dr MA Razzaque, Renowned Economist and Chairman of Research and Policy Integration for Development (RAPID); Mr. Mahfuzul Islam, Deputy General Manager of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF); Mr. Fakrul Ahsan, Chief Technical Adviser, UNDP Bangladesh; Ms Ambareen Reza, Chief Executive Officer of Foodpanda Bangladesh; Mr. Mohammad Aminul Haque, Executive Director of Nagad Limited; Mr. Mahfuz Sadique, Chief Communication Officer of bKash Limited and Mr. Biplob Ghosh, Chief Executive Officer of eCourier also spoke in the roundtable discussion.
